My favourite thing about the Monthly Creative Briefs is that Ryann and Fleur have done all the hard work for you: the research, trend spotting, colour stories, keywords plus a dedicated Pinterest board for each monthly brief.

All I have to do it create the art!

My Top Tip for how to make the most out of the Monthly Creative Briefs is:
As well as saving the monthly digital Design Brief files, I make sure to print them out and leave them in plain view on my coffee table, ready for whenever I have a free moment. That way I can dive right into brainstorming and creating the art.

Artist SpotlightChristina Carlsen

Christina is a watercolor artist and budding surface pattern designer living in the Pacific NW.

She takes a lot of my inspiration from her surroundings – especially anything to do with the ocean.

She is an artist with a full time day job in marketing and a mom to two wild boys so she is slowly building this art business in the margins of her life.

The Monthly Portfolio Building Briefs have been so helpful in giving me direction and focus in my art practice each month.

I love all the helpful details that Ryann & Fleur include!

My Top Tip For Creatives:

I find that printing out the briefs as soon as I get them and then really sitting and reading through it with a cup of tea has helped.

I write notes on the brief of any ideas that come to mind and then using the provided sheets to draw out a few thumbnails of my ideas.

I try to get a rough plan down on paper and then start on creating the art.

Artist SpotlightNikki Phyllis

Nikki is the creative behind Kitten Lane, a little design studio nestled in the Brisbane Valley, Australia.

She draws inspiration from nature, her rural childhood, and her daily adventures with her two small children.

Nikki is often drawn to soft and dreamy colour palettes and creating with relaxed, cosy interiors in mind.

I love the concept of creating a mini collection. Each Monthly Creative Brief has an on trend theme and colour palette which provides me with a clear focus each month.

I love that all the research on design trends has already been done, so I can just jump in and start creating, which is a great help when I’m also juggling two little ones.

The art calls are also an awesome bonus!

My Top Tip:

I like to mull things over for a couple of weeks first and also pin anything that catches my eye. Quite often I will start seeing the brief’s theme pop up in different places or see something that will spark a new idea.

My design process tends to be 95% thinking about the concept and 5% actually designing it

New Art Call – Kinder Cloth Daipers

New Art Call – Kinder Cloth Daipers

Creative Studio Collective:
Our 5th Collaborative Art Call for Our Brief Members

Cue the fanfare and let the celebration begin! 🎉 We’ve just launched our latest ART CALL in collaboration with the beloved brand, Kinder Cloth Diaper Co. and the opportunity is amazing!

This is a Category Exclusive Licensing opportunity, and if you love designing for the baby and kids industry, we think you’ll be thrilled to join in. If your focus is to design market-ready collections, this collaboration could be a fantastic addition to your portfolio.

Each Art Call we announce is a new opportunity — an opportunity to expand your portfolio, an opportunity to practice working to a brief for a company, and, best of all, an opportunity to showcase your work in front of a brand you would love to collaborate with!

This Art Call is running from May-July 2024 – Missed this Art Call? Join our Membership to be the first to know when new Art Calls launch.

Now, let’s dive into all the details!

So what exactly are our Art Calls?

Well, they’re like magical portals that give you insight into exactly what a company is looking for and when! The Art Calls are our way of inviting you to create artwork for specific projects, collaboration, and opportunities that brands are looking for.
We believe this will not only give your artwork the spotlight it deserves but also foster a thriving community where we can all continue to support one another!

Want to join on this Art Call? Be sure to join our Portfolio Building Creative Design Brief Membership!!

How exactly, do our Art Calls work?

It’s pretty straightforward! Every time we have a NEW Art Call we send out an email to all of our current Brief Members announcing the specific Art Call and letting you know a NEW Art Call brief has been added to their CSC library.

In your library you’ll find all of the information for the Art Call. All you need to do is select the call that speak to you, let your creativity run wild with the Art Call objective, and submit your artwork (either new or old) before the stated deadline.

Each Art Call will clearly state the objective and the requirements the company is looking for the artwork to meet.
We absolutely love seeing the magic that our Brief Members create and providing the opportunity for new and exciting partnerships to be made!
Please Note: For your work to be submitted you need to be a current Brief member for the duration of the Art Call dates.
